Several notable Chinese scholars and collectors loaned their paintings to the author for this study. A superb collection of great works, carefully described & well illustrated, includes fan-shaped paintings, landscapes, Buddhist monks, portraits. Scholarly, excellent descriptions and text. Written while he was in Peking in 1923.

Post Cards, and Lacquered ‘Japan Tea’ Fan. Japan, n.d. c. 1880-1890’s. A nice group of ephemerial materials, all in very good condition. Consisting of two old hand colored albumen photos, 8 x 10.5 inches, one shows the “Steaming of Tea Leaves, the other “Tea House Girl’s” with English caption and number in lower right corner, very good, nice color, nice images. Also two unused b.w. post cards from the Associated Tea Guild of Shidzuoka-Ken. A red lacquer folding fan, with advertisement for Shizauoka Japan Tea printed on one side, a color pictorial scene with Mt. Fuji on the back, showing girls collecting Japanese tea leaves in
front of a river scene. A nice group, suitable for display.
