My name is Gabriella Frigo, I’m 48 and I live in Padova, Italy, with my husband and my daughter Aurora. I am a teacher at secondary school. I started collecting fans about six years ago after falling in love with a fan I saw and bought in an antique market in Padova. Then I specialized in repairing them and I’ve got about seventy at present. I like antiques but in my opinion fans are the most fascinating objects! Their loveliness, their history and the craftsmanship fan makers developed attract me. My favourite is an 18th century gouache on vellum shoving Paride and the three goddesses ,with beautifully carved ivory sticks and my best purchase is maybe an Italian “Grand Tour” fan showing a gouache of Rome (St. Peter’s).
